Waiting, hoping, and grieving can take up so much space.
Maybe you’re just starting to think about getting pregnant and already feeling anxious about it. Maybe you’re counting days, tracking cycles, and bracing yourself every month. Maybe you’re in the middle of fertility treatments, or grieving a pregnancy that ended far too soon. However you got here, it can feel all-consuming, and often very private.
What this can look like
-
Anxiety about whether you’ll be able to get pregnant, or about pregnancy itself
-
The emotional rollercoaster of the two-week wait
-
Stress from appointments, procedures, and decisions about treatment
-
Strain on your relationship or your sex life
-
Feeling left out or heartbroken by pregnancy announcements and baby showers
-
Grief after miscarriage or loss, even when others don’t seem to understand it
-
Fear and hypervigilance during a pregnancy after loss
How therapy can help
Therapy gives you a place to put all of it: the hope, the fear, the frustration, and the grief, without having to manage anyone else’s reaction. We’ll work on coping with uncertainty, quieting anxious thoughts, communicating with your partner, and getting through hard dates and triggers. If you’ve experienced a loss, we’ll make space to grieve at your own pace. And if you become pregnant, I can continue supporting you through pregnancy and beyond.
